At URUMQHI !!!

The AIDS Team - Urumqi, Xinjiang:

The flight from Yuencheng took us to Xian and then by late evening we were on our way to Urumqi the capital of Xinjiang Autonomous Province of Peoples republic of China. We were greeted at the airport at 1:30 am by Dr.Zheng and his associate with beaming smiles early in the morning. Dr. Zeng is the HOD of ID and his colleague an associate in the department of Infectious Disease at Xinjinan University Hospital. It was such a great feeling to experience the warmth of friendship and made one oblivious of the minus 19 degrees and the over two feet of snow. It was saturday the weekend off, yet we went to the hospital and meet with the highly dedicated team of doctors caring for HIVAIDS patients. We were taken on a grand round and a tour of their facility. We had an informative and productive scientific session as we proceeded along. Looking forward to visiting them again and collaborating with them in the days to come in the fight against HIVAIDS in the AP region.
