All in the Line of Duty!
ALL IN THE LINE OF DUTY : The team at Green Harbor AIDS Hospital, China were most hospitable and caring group solely dedicated to patient care. The Clinical Preceptorship we had in Shanxi Linfen was a success. Taken picture with the trainees on the grounds of the Green Harbor.
Michael Weinstein, President AHF and the Provincial Officials at the AHF COE Collaborative Project at the Linfen ID Hospital, a landmark.
An old but lovely picture: Peter Piot, Executive Director, UNAIDS, David Miller, UNAIDS India, Nafisa Ali, Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi.
Bernard Okongo - the Africa Bureau Chief, AHF Global is all smiles as always.
At the Airport !
May 2006: Dr.C.Thangsing AHF Asia Pacific Bureau Chief, at Rattanakiri Airport Terminal.
The drive from Stung Streng was just comfortable at 3 hours. We had a good visit with the officials at the Provincial Hospital in Rattanakiri. We visited the AIDS Control officer and also the facilities at the Hospital. Visited the TB ward and the VCT center. Soon, the days just went by and its time for us to get back to Phnom Penh. The thought of taking the almost 8 to 9 hours journey back by car was not that inviting. The flight for Phnom Penh - was much more attactive and soon we are at the Rattanakiri Airport. What you see behind me is the Airport lounge, administrative office. Nobody actually get lost in the Airport terminal but one can if not careful might just come head on with cattle in the runway.

A way to drive the blues away!
It was pre Queens day in Amsterdam. The day was chilly and wet but our spirits were high. Thats, Mary, Henry and Sarynina. We had spend the whole day on a business meeting. One thing thats certain among colleagues and friends meeting there is nothing but work and work that come up. Hardly room for any other talk as our work and its excitement, challenges loom large in each of our heads. However, this special day the drum beats and the festive mood was already in the near distant and soon we took to the roads amidst the throng of crowds in the crowded narrow streets of Amsterdam. We leisurely, restfully yet in anticipation of what we might see walk straight the streets from the AHF Global Secretariat and we were soon at the 'Grasshopers' here memories of work melts away and the wine might played its role but then its the mood of the crowd in the bar that changes things and soon. Its smiles and smiles.

Enroute Rattanakiri!!
June 1 2006: The six hours ride to Stueng Streng was surprisingly comfortable and soon we were check into the best hotel available in the town. The meetings with the local PLHA group was the most captivating, most touching we had in Stueng Streng provincial headquarters. Meeting with the YWAM representative Joy was a joy for we learn much of what the team had done for people with HIVAIDS in the provinces. They had been reaching out to over 60 PLHAs through their community and home based care activities.
Then we took off for Rattanakiri Provinces headquarters 'Banlung' and the ride was refreshing and the deep jungles a welcome change to the concrete and busy, crowded streets of the big cities. We stop at a wayside restaurant in the jungle with miles and miles before we hit civilization.
